The Commonwealth Zoning Office has looked at five applicants for their zoning planner position.

At a board meeting Thursday afternoon, Zoning administrator Therese Ogumoro disclosed they will decide on the matter this week.

She said interviews were held last Tuesday. The second part of the interviews were set Friday.

She also told the board that the office is in the process of hiring Bernard Bermudes as assistant for their zoning enforcement officer. He would aid the current enforcement officer with reports, among others.

It was also gathered that the Zoning Office is urging the House of Representatives to reinstate their originally proposed budget before it was trimmed by the Office of the Governor before transmittal to the Legislature.

Board members disclosed that they have been in communication with Rep. Antonio Sablan (Ind-Saipan) on the matter.

The Zoning Office’s proposed budget was trimmed by some $40,000. This fiscal year, they were allocated $229,646, according to budget figures.
