The Saipan Mighty Dolphins Leo Club donated school supplies (notebooks, rulers, pens, sharpeners, pencil cases, fillers papers, folders, and erasers) to 30 students of Marianas High School last Aug. 31, 2017, as their first project for the Worldwide Week Service for Youth.

Giving is caring and a little help for some students would go a long way, said Leo president Rhose Ann Prado. She extended thanks to “the great support” of their sponsoring club, the Saipan Fil-Am Lions Club.

Young people are the future of service—and Lions. That’s why engaging young people in service is such an important part of the new global service framework and the goal of serving 200 million people per year by 2021 through Lions Clubs International.

When you engage young people in service, you do more than inspire them to get involved in their community, said Lion officer and club adviser Mario Mayuga, You give them a chance to change the world and the community that they belong,” he said.

The Saipan Mighty Dolphins Leo Club currently has 28 members and still welcomes students who are interested to join the club. Call or text Prado at 989-9416, Mayuga at 285-1021, Eden Mercado at 989-2416, or club advisers Eden Mercado, Victoria Camama, or Nina Alvarez. (PR)
