Youth Conservation Corps internships available
American Memorial Park will once again host the Youth Conservation Corps program this summer. Applications are currently being accepted now through April 4, 2014.
The Youth Conservation Corps is a work-learn-earn program that develops an understanding and appreciation of the nation’s environment and heritage. YCC participants will learn about American Memorial Park and the National Park Service mission while engaging in a wide variety of conservation activities and park operations. YCC participants will become ambassadors “to protect special places for all.”
Four applicants will be selected to participate in the program for up to eight weeks, beginning June 15 through Aug. 9, 2014. Participants are expected to work Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, and will be paid at the federal minimum wage. Applicants must be at least 15 years of age on June 15, 2014, but no older than 18 years of age on Aug. 9, 2014.
Application forms are available on the web at www.nps.gov/amme. Look for the YCC link on the main page. Applicants must completely fill out and sign the application form. Applicants under 18 years of age must also have a parent or guardian’s original signature on the application form. You will only be contacted if you, or your child, have been selected.
