Kyle Kaipat, seen here swinging during last season's game, helped Your Balls beat Gagu Eyez in the semis of the Chamolinian league last Monday night at the Capital Hill Ballfield. (Walter Sutherland)  Your Balls advanced to the men’s division championship game of Chamolinian Softball Association’s 2nd Budweiser Softball League with a twice-to-beat advantage after routing Gagu Eyez, 15-5, during their upper bracket semifinals match last Monday night at the Capital Hill Ballfield.

In other results, SaiPal survived the Warriors after eight innings in the lower bracket elimination pairing, 11-10, to earn the right to face the winner of last night’s knockout match between the defending champion Man Amigos and Natibu for the second and last finals berth.

In addition, Talu Fahn barely made it past G-Ballers, 20-19, in the Bottom Six single- elimination tournament pairing. More results, including the ladies’ division, will be released tomorrow.

Your Balls 15, Gagu Eyez 5

Your Balls established a 5-0 lead in the first inning off a three-run homer from Kyle Kaipat, an error, and a sacrifice fly from JP Lizama.

Gagu Eyez then pulled within a run in the second inning, 4-5, thanks to an early error and a three-run blast from Swain Cangco. However, Your Balls tightened up on defense through the middle innings and stamped a dozen runs in the bottom of the third inning to get a chokehold on the match after only five innings.

Kyle Kaipat belted a two-run shot to start the uprising, followed by a pair of RBI singles from Norman Angui and Lizama, while the other runs came off an error, a sacrifice fly, and two-run double by Marvin Kaipat.

Your Balls then added three more runs to close the fourth off a solo homer from Audie Maratita and a pair of sacrifice flies from Angui and Lizama.

Gagu Eyez could not avoid the early decision, as it was stuffed to just one run in the fifth inning.

SaiPal 11, Warriors 1

The Warriors moved around three early runs of a sacrifice fly from Darren Pua, a triple from Chris Pangelinan, and a homerun from Mike Pangelinan, before SaiPal assumed control, 5-3, with two outs in the second inning off six hits.

A double by Leo Blas added another run for SaiPal in the third inning before it turned into a 7-5 favor after four frames.

Warriors’ Fred Pangelinan bashed a two-RBI single in the top portion, while SaiPal answered with an RBI base rip from Jayson Hayes in the bottom frame.

Warrior’s Henry Rabauliman cranked a solo shot in the fifth inning to bring his team within a run and a costly error by SaiPal out on the field in the last inning of regulation gave the Warriors a second chance bonus frame. The Warriors’ Blas Magofna scored off a wild throw from the shortstop.

The Warriors held SaiPal scoreless in the bottom side and worked around three runs in the top of the eighth inning primarily off some more errors. However, SaiPal made up for its defensive shortcomings in the bottom of the inning.

SaiPal loaded the bases right away and scored three runs off errors and an RBI base rip from Lefty Shiro before Eli Ilo stepped in soon after and belted the walk off single, scoring Gloyd Martin.

Talu Fahn 20, G-Ballers 19

A three-run homer from Talu Fahn’s Eric Cabrera tied the gamed at 9-all in the third inning.

Talu Fahn fell behind in the early innings and was one-upped again in the top of the fifth after four G-Ballers worked around four runs off four hits, including a leadoff homerun from Asap Ogumoro and an RBI base smash from Ray Borja. The other run came off a fielder’s choice.

The G-Ballers then moved ahead, 16-9, in the top of the sixth inning off five hits and some costly errors, but Talu Fahn pulled off a dramatic comeback in the last two frames.

Talu Fahn posted seven runs in the bottom portion off nine hits with Manny Ada, Cabrera, Floyd Dela Cruz, and Justin Mizutani bagging RBI singles. Eldred Santos capped the rally with a two-RBI base knock and Talu Fahn held its rival scoreless in the top half of the last inning of regulation before staking the win with six at bats into the final stand.

Stanley Aldan cracked an RBI base poke and Bill Aguon made a sacrifice fly before Ada delivered the walkoff single for Talu Fahn’s win.
