Make Scents and Pacific Bauble, student companies from Kagman High School and Saipan Southern High School respectively, once again brought their products to market at the Junior Achievement Company Program Trade Fair last Thursday, Dec. 18, at the Garapan Street Market.

“The trade fair is a key event for the JA Company Program as it, along with other sales events, provide opportunities for our students to sharpen their sales and other business skills. Although not their first sales event, the trade fair is set apart from the other sales events in that it was judged by a panel of business professionals,” said CDA Economic Development Analyst/JA Company Program coordinator Carlinen B. Sablan.

Make Scents showcased and sold Saipan Breeze, a line of fabric/air fresheners while Pacific Bauble offered Charmies, cellphone/electronics charm accessories.

Sablan said these talented and young entrepreneurs conceptualized and created their respective products in just eight weeks. And with Christmas just around the corner, the trade fair was a perfect opportunity to get unique gifts for family and friends while supporting the young entrepreneurs and Junior Achievers, she added.

The CNMI Junior Achievement Company Program, the Commonwealth Development Authority and the CNMI Public School System thank program volunteers and supporters including the Bank of Hawaii, the Youth Affairs Office of the Office of the Governor, the Saipan Chamber of Commerce, Pacifica Insurance Underwriters, Island Training Solutions, Marianas Medical Center, and Friends First Marketing, Inc. for making the JA Trade Fair Competition possible.
