Woo, Elliot seeded first in SIS tennis tourney

Simin Woo and Hyejin Elliot have been installed the top seeds in the men’s and women’s open, respectively, of the 2022 SIS Student Council Tennis Tournament that is set to unfurl tomorrow at the American Memorial Park tennis courts.

Expected to crowd Woo at the top of the men’s open are No. 2 seed Morris Villanueva and No. 3 seed Sam Ryu.

In the women’s open, expected to give Elliot a tough challenge is Serin Chung.

David Kwon is the No. 1 seed in the boys 16&U with Cody Shimizu expected to provide the best resistance.

In the girls 16&U, Seiyul Hong has been seeded No. 1 with Seohee Lee seeded No. 2.

Henry Choi has the pole position in the boys 14&U with Siwoo Lee getting the second seed.

Irin Chung is the prohibitive favorite in the girls 14&U with Hannah Chae running second.

In the boys 12&U, Ryan Choi takes the top seed with Eamon Tang second.

Serin Chung and Derek Culp have been named the top seeds in the 5.0 mixed doubles. The team of Jessie Kim and David Kwon is seeded No. 2.

The 4.0 mixed doubles has Irin Chung and June Yu serving as the top seeds with Wataru Kadokura and Hoo Wang the No. 2 seed.

Yutaka Kadokura and Anne Lee is the team to beat in the 3.0 mixed doubles with Siwoo Lee and Isa Nishitani the No. 2 seed.

The tournament is being held to serve as a fundraiser for Saipan International School’s Student Council.
