The CNMI Women’s Association and Women’s Affairs Office is set to hold a two-day Women’s Summit at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center. Themed “Press For [Continued] Progress,” the summit will be on March 26 and March 27, from 7:30am to 4pm on both days.

The maiden summit was held in 2013 with close to 100 women from all walks of life participating in the panel presentations and discussions.

Felicidad T. Ogumoro, summit chair and administrator of the CNMI Women’s Association, said the summit seeks to highlight the CWA’s mission, which is to ensure that women are fully engaged in the political, economic, and social development of the CNMI. It is also in line with this month’s celebration of Women’s Month.
The event takes place annually at the end of March as part of the CNMI’s celebration CNMI Women’s Month. Topics to be discussed include women and the following themes: health, education, faith, public service, employment and economy, and culture.

Registration is ongoing until Wednesday, March 21, 2018. You may call 233-9411 or email commonwealthwomenassociation@gmail.com to register. Registration forms can also be accessed online at https://www.facebook.com/cnmiwomen/ or in-person at the Garapan Community Development Center.

The 5th Annual Women’s Summit is sponsored by the CNMI Women’s Association and the Women’s Affairs Office, and is partially funded by the Community Services Block Grant, a sub-grant awarded by the Division of Youth Services through funds under the Office of Community Services, Department of Health and Human Services.
