Woman who beat up another gets 60-day sentence
Lydia Omengkar, 36, pleaded guilty to assault and battery on Thursday afternoon as part of a plea deal.
Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho sentenced Omengkar to a year in prison with the first 60 days served without parole, and the remaining prison term is suspended.
Omengkar will be placed on probation for one year after completing the jail term.
Camacho granted Omengkar’s request to start serving her sentence on Aug. 13, 2012 at 4pm.
Omengkar was required to pay a $250 fine, $100 probation fee plus court costs. She was ordered to perform 50 hours of community service.
Camacho prohibited her from possessing or consuming any alcoholic beverages during her probation.
The judge also barred her from entering any bar or other establishment whose primary purpose is the sale or consumption of alcoholic beverages.
As part of the plea deal, the court dismissed the remaining charges of assault and battery, criminal trespassing, and three counts of disturbing the peace.
Omengkar admitted that, on Jan. 29, 2012, while intoxicated, she entered the residence of David Santos, grabbed Sandaria Sebuu’s hair and punched her mouth three times.
Assistant attorney general Darren Robinson told the court that Omengkar has no previous criminal history and that the victim suffered only minor injuries.
