A woman arrested in June for allegedly making a disturbance at a massage parlor and trying to grab the gun of one of three police officers has pleaded guilty and was slapped with a two-day prison term.

Jayna Jia Cepeda Kaipat, 26, pleaded guilty last week to disturbing the peace as part of a plea deal. The remaining charges of obstructing justice and resisting arrest were dropped.

Superior Court Associate Judge David A. Wiseman sentenced Kaipat to six months in prison, all suspended except for two days, with credit for two days of time served. She was placed on probation for six months. She was ordered to pay a $200 fine and $25 court assessment fee.

Kaipat, who has no criminal history, was required to write letters of apology to Yin Wang Cabrera and police officers Kui Rogopes and Peter Seman.

She was required to submit to an alcohol and drug assessment and is prohibited from possessing or consuming alcohol or controlled substances during her probation.

According to police Kaipat argued with the owner of I Love Massage, Yin Wang Cabrera, on June 4, 2015, demanded to use the phone, and refused to leave the establishment when asked to, becoming belligerent and requiring an employee of I Love Massage to call the police.

Police said that Kaipat hit police officer Seman several times on the chest and once on the throat, scratched Rogopes’ face, and threatened to kill the officers and their families.

One officer tried to escort Kaipat out but she refused to leave and became uncooperative. When Seman asked the parlor’s owner if she wanted to file a formal complaint, Kaipat grabbed the officer’s right shoulder, turned him around and yelled at him not to force the owner to make a complaint.

Seman tried to secure Kaipat in handcuffs, but she allegedly resisted and struggled with the three officers.

During the struggle, Kaipat allegedly tried to grab Rogopes’ gun from its holster, but a bystander yelled that the defendant was trying to get the gun.
