A woman charged of assaulting her son last year has entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to six months of probation. Linda N. Pedro, 47, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace. Superior Court Presiding Judge Robert C. Naraja in an order issued on Wednesday accepted Pedro’s guilty plea and sentenced her to six months in prison, all suspended. During the supervised probation for six months, Pedro is required to pay a $100 fine, $25 court assessment fee, and $60 in probation fee. Naraja ordered the defendant to complete 100 hours of community work service and submit to an examination focusing on anger management and alcohol/substance abuse counseling at the Community Guidance Center. Pedro is also prohibited from consuming any alcoholic beverages and barred from entering any bar or other establishments whose primary purpose is the sale or consumption of alcohol during her probation. As part of the plea deal, the judge dismissed the charge of assault and battery. According to the plea agreement, on July 2, 2011 on Saipan, Pedro disturbed the peace of a household member.
