Star Wars fans rejoiced upon the release of the newest fanboy movie, Rogue One: A Star Wars Movie on island. Some were more excited than others after winning free tickets for the movie’s premiere, sponsored by Aloha Maid and Royal Mill last Thursday at Regal Theatres.

Winners won four tickets each along with a $35 gift card for concession purposes just by purchasing six packs of Aloha Maid or four packs of Royal Mills Coffee.

Guy Pudney, resident manager for Marpac Inc., said, “This is just a way for us to give back to our customers. It’s also a way for us to team up with wonderful organizations like Regal Theatres to promote a hit movie so many people enjoy.”

Aloha Maid drinks were also given away for free at the premiere.

“It’s just a way to promote our drinks as well as give the winners the chance to use the gift cards for food at the concession stand,” Pudney said.

Ivan Ilmov, president of the Rotary Club Saipan, said, “My daughter and I really love Star Wars. It’s amazing to be able to be one of the first people to see it on island.”

Anastastia Ilmov said, “I really enjoyed the movie and what Aloha Maid did was very nice. I also thought the drinks they provided were so delicious.”

“It’s an amazing thing Aloha did for the community. The moment we got in, staff were offering us drinks and asking if we needed anything,” Ivan Ilmov said.

Mount Carmel School president Galvin Deleon Guerrero said, “I think the promo was great! I actually saw a couple people who wanted the tickets but weren’t Star Wars fans. I find that this event may just bring in more support to both the company of Aloha and the Star Wars franchise.”

Deleon Guerrero has been a fan of Star Wars since he was 6 years old and even dressed up as Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi character from the franchise.

The movie premiere marks the last promotional event for Aloha in 2016. More are in the works for the beginning of the following year. For more information and possible giveaways, follow Aloha Maid on their Facebook page.
