Wind advisory in effect

A small craft advisory for winds is in effect until 6am today, Monday.

Based on the information received from the National Weather Service in Tiyan and compiled at the CNMI Emergency Operations Center State Warning Point, a developing tropical disturbance to the south of Guam will produce gusty winds across the Marianas. Winds should subside slightly today, falling below hazardous levels.

A small craft advisory for wind means that wind speeds of 21 to 33 knots are expected. Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid sailing in these conditions.
