LETTER TO THE EDITOR

What are the existing gun laws in the CNMI?

Share

To all CNMI government entities—Judiciary, Executive Branch, and Legislature—all CNMI government offices, the CNMI Bar Association, the Chamber of Commerce on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota, the Marianas Visitors Authority, any and all other concerned groups and private citizens: Please inform and educate the CNMI public via all media sources including radio, television, and newspapers—both print and online editions—of existing (as of 2023 to date) all current CNMI gun laws. Please post handbills in Chamorro, Carolinian, Chinese, and English of these laws in front of stores, restaurants, and other public places. This should not require lengthy meetings about pending legislation or whose responsibility it is to do so. This is to ask the government, legal, and business community to inform the public of what CNMI laws concerning guns—possession, licensing, and ownership—that already exist. If one life or many lives is saved by doing so it will be well worth it. Thank you.
