The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. would like to inform the public that there is a water service interruption causing low pressure to no water for customers in the following Isley tank service areas: As Perdido, As Gonno, Koblerville, San Antonio, Afetnas, Chalan Piao, Chalan Kanoa, Susupe, San Jose and Oleai, due to low tank level at the Isley tanks near the Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport.

The purpose of the water interruption is due to a pump and motor failure at the Maui shaft 1 well that was identified Friday morning by CUC water operators. The pump and motor in the Maui 1 shaft is located 110 feet below the surface, which requires the use of a crane to transport the replacement materials to the bottom of the shaft. The replacement of the pump and motor is anticipated to be completed today, May 4, 2020. Customers in the affected areas will receive improved water pressure after the tank level increases and the distribution system’s pressure stabilizes.

CUC urges customers in these areas to continue to practice water conservation during the dry season and to contact the CUC Customer Call Center to report leaks for repairs. For further details on water conservation, refer to CUC’s Drought Advisory on CUC’s Facebook page. For more information, contact the CUC Customer Call Center (664-4282) or monitor our Facebook page for the latest updates (https://www.facebook.com/CommonwealthUtilitiesCorporation/). (PR)
