Water outage set in Koblerville, Tottotville, As Gonno on Jan. 27
The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. would like to inform the residents of Koblerville, Tottotville, and As Gonno that a water outage is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, from 9am to 5pm. During this eight-hour period, water service will be interrupted intermittently.
The purpose of this water outage is to allow CUC Water Operations to divert water from the existing Koblerville Wells to the Isley Reservoir. In order to achieve this, CUC must isolate certain sections in the Koblerville water system and this will cause the temporary water outage in the affected villages. The diversion of the water into the Isley Reservoir will eliminate direct feed wells from the system. Customers will see more consistent service pressure as the distribution system will change from dead-headed pumps to the gravity pressure from the Dandan Reservoir or Isley Reservoir. Some areas of the Koblerville homestead will become part of the Dandan Tank Service Area, and some areas will become part of the Isley Tank Service Area; all areas will be removed from a non-compliant direct feed system without a reservoir. As such, the customers in the affected area will be served according to the pressure from the Dandan Reservoir or Isley Reservoir, depending on location. Customers in the higher regions will see increases in service pressure.
CUC’s operations team will be working hard to return service to our customers in these affected areas as soon as possible. Due to the construction of the Papago Reservoir that feeds the Dandan tank, there may be times with limited water service until the Papago Reservoir is completed (anticipated to be May 2015). Because the work to be performed will be in traveled roadways, CUC requests that motorist exercise caution when driving through the area.
CUC apologizes in advance for any inconvenience resulting from this project and the water service interruption. Direct inquiries to project manager Larry Manacop at (670) 236-4332. (CUC)
