Water outage on Dec. 2 to affect Papago, SVicente, Dandan, Stanford
Residents of Papago, San Vicente, and those living in the Stanford area, as well as residents along Dandan Road will experience a nine-hour water outage on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, from 8am to 5pm.
The purpose of this water outage is to allow the Commonwealth Utilities Corp.’s contractor, ASC Construction, to relocate an existing 8-inch ductile iron tee. The relocation of this tee will provide the adequate space for a new pressure-sustaining valve that will be installed in the near future. This new valve will control water flow into the San Vicente reservoir and regulate water pressure in the Stanford area. This work is part of the 300,000-gallon tank replacement for Papago, which is funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
CUC’s operations team and ASC Construction will be working hard to return service to customers in these affected areas as soon as possible. CUC recommends that customers take extra conservation measures so that returning service will occur quickly upon completion of construction. Restoration of normal service may take several hours as the tank re-fills.
