The 9 Eleven MJD Warriors ruled the Saipan Billiards Association Budweiser Open 8-Ball Thursday League after beating sister team 9 Eleven Titans II, 9-5.

The match was supposed to be played on Sept. 28, but both teams decided to move the finals to last Saturday due to conflict of schedule.

The Warriors, who topped the elimination round, outplayed and outhustled the Titans II in completing the race-to-nine title match. The Warriors defeated Tasha’s Wild Bills, 9-3, in their first game in the playoffs to march into the finals. Senen Pangilinan, Roel Barreto, Albert Pangilinan, J.R. Del Castillo, Cecilio Bisana, Marvin Diocares, and Chris Imbo are the members of the champion team.

In the battle for third place, Wild Bill’s squeezed out a 9-8 win over the Chow Time 8-Black Ball.

Rodel Dela Cruz and Nick Ayson, with the score tied at eight, secured the win for Wild Bill’s after the duo bested the pair of Rey Hermogenes and Jeff Gayas in the deciding Partner’s 8-Ball match.

In the Tuesday League division, the Chow Time-Blue Haus Destroyers scored a 9-5 win over the 9 Eleven Titans, while the 9 Eleven Docomo Hustlers completed a masterful 9-2 decision against Tasha’s Straight Black Ball to move into the semifinals.

The Destroyers-Hustlers semis match was being played at press time along with the other Final Four pairing between Tasha’s Crazy 8 and the Chow Time Assassins.
