Police arrested yesterday Roland Hernandez Muña, a 25-year-old man hunted for allegedly eluding police officers who were about to serve him with an arrest warrant in connection with the burglary at Pretty Tours Car Rental in Garapan.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Travis Hurst said detectives captured Muña in the afternoon.

Hurst did not give other details about Muna’s arrest but thanked the media for assisting DPS in disseminating the information about the suspect.

On Monday, NMI Crime Stoppers Program coordinator Jason Tarkong issued a statement seeking the public’s help to find Muña.

Tarkong disclosed that on July 1, 2014, Pretty Tours Car Rental was burglarized and items were stolen, including an FJ Cruiser.

Tarkong said police investigation led to the identification of several suspects, including Muña.

On July 4, Superior Court Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio signed an arrest warrant for Muña on charges of burglary, theft, and theft of vehicle. Kim-Tenorio imposed a $50,000 cash bail.

Police officers managed to contact Muña on July 5 to serve the arrest warrant. Tarkong said the suspect, however, eluded and escaped police officers.
