The Office of the Mayor of Saipan, the Saipan Higher Education Financial Assistance program, and Marianas Aviation Services are collaborating to offer a scholarship program for those who want to pursue a career in airline ticketing and ground handling.
In a conference meeting on Wednesday at the Saipan Mayor’s office, it was announced that financial assistance is now available for those interested in undergoing training with Marianas Aviation Services in the field of airline ticketing and ground handling.
Marianas Aviation Services is a full service aviation career school. To be eligible to obtain the scholarship, an applicant must be 18 years old; a U.S. citizen or a green card holder; must read, write, speak, and understand fluent English; must have a valid CNMI driver’s license; must not have any criminal background; must be able to lift 50 lbs; must have reliable transportation; must maintain a well-groomed appearance; must be able to work odd hours; and customer service experience for up to two years is preferred.
Rob Combs, president and chief instructor of Marianas Aviation Services, said the training will be hands-on. Classes will begin on April 17 and will end on April 29. Class hours is from 6pm to 10pm and training will take place at the Marianas Aviation Services office above the Payless Shoe Source.
