The public is invited to join in the Walk & Roll Against Domestic Violence tomorrow, Oct. 17, 2018 in Upper MIHA.

Registration will start at 5pm at the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.’s parking lot with the walk starting at 5:30pm. The first 100 individuals to register will also receive a free T-shirt.

The Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence, with the Family Violence Task Force, also encourage Walk & Roll participants to create signs or banners to help spread awareness of domestic violence and/or to show support for victims and survivors.

October is nationally and locally recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, with this year’s theme for the CNMI being “Support. Encourage. Empower.”

Additional DVAM events are scheduled throughout October including the Day of Unity on Saturday, Oct. 20 and Purple Thursday on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018. The CNMI’s Purple Thursday event will include the annual Men’s Walk & Roll Against Domestic Violence and the Candlelight Vigil for Domestic Violence Victims.
