Mark Butac kicked things off for the Jokers crew in the one-sided contest by beating John Reyes in the first Singles 8-Ball game.
The Voyagers won seven more match ups in Singles and Partners 8-Ball events after that to secure the win that vaulted them to a tie on top of the standings with the Jokers Docomo Hustlers. Both teams hold a 16-10 record.
All 13 matches will be played as each win and loss would be added to their standing with the team that has the most wins earning the season crown.
The Jokers Destroyers and sister team StraightBlackBall are closely behind with at 15-11 and 14-12 records, respectively. The Jonny’s Crazy8 (9-17) and Titans (8-18) complete the standings of the six-team field.
The win also erased the memory of the Voyagers’ poor start where they lost to the Hustlers in the season opener last Nov. 3.
The Titans earned their first win courtesy of team captain Ray Matsunaga’s victory over Roman Rodriguez in the first match of the third Singles 8-Ball event.
Randy Sablan gave the Titans their second win when he defeated Butac in their Singles 8-Ball face-off.
The Hustlers defeated the Crazy 8, 8-5, while StraightBlack Ball escaped with a 7-6 decision over the Destroyers in the two other match ups.
Next Tuesday, Nov. 17, the Hustlers take on the Destroyers with the Voyagers battling the StraightBlackBall, while the Crazy 8 will clash with the Titans.
Over at the Thursday League, the Wild Bill’s Rack ‘N’ Roll collide with the Wild Wild West, while the Jokers WildBoyz face National Alamo Car Rental. The Jokers Homeboyz will visit Jonny’s Team SCS.
