The Jokers IT&E Voyagers have slowly pulled away in the Budweiser-Saipan Billiards Association Open 8-Ball Tuesday League.

The Voyagers moved to 93-50 after results of Week 11 games played last week in various bars on island came in.

They now enjoy a 20-win lead over sister team Destroyers, which have a 73-70 mark with the Docomo Hustlers, another Jokers-backed squad, not far behind at third place with their 69-74 slate.

The Jonny’s Titans and the Jokers StraightBlackBall are still in good position for a podium finish with their similar 68-75 records. The Jonny’s Crazy 8 is at the cellar with a 58-85 card.

The Hustlers were the Voyagers’ recent victims as the league leaders coasted to an 11-2 win in their last week’s matchup.

The triumvirate of Voyagers captain Rolly Villanueva, Mark Butac, and Brian Nelvis proved to be too much against the Hustlers, who showed up minus Jerry Soriano.

Only the father-and-son tandem of Senen and Albert Pangilinan were able to squeeze out victories against the Voyagers, scoring both of their wins against Butac in the singles 8-Ball.

Hustlers captain Rowel Mariano, Erwin Gomez, Robert Sanciangco, Simeon Kapileo, and Joey Lucido were unlucky with their respective matches.

In other Tuesday League results, the Destroyers completed a 9-4 triumph over the Crazy 8, while the Titans escaped with a 7-6 decision against the StraightBlackBall.

Week 12 matches were still being played at press time with the Destroyers taking on the StraightBlackBall, the Titans facing the Voyagers, and the Hustlers clashing with the Crazy 8.

In the Thursday League results last Jan. 14, the Jokers Homeboyz jumped on top of the standings following their 11-2 crushing of the Wild Bill’s Rack ‘N’ Roll.

The Homeboyz have improved to 65-39, while National Alamo Car Rental, the leader in the past weeks, dropped to second with its 63-41 following an 8-5 result over Jonny’s Team SCS. The Jokers WildBoyz also scored an 8-5 win against the Wild Bill’s Wild Wild West.

The WildBoyz are still in third with a 57-47 mark, followed by the 46-58 of the Wild Wild West. The Rack ‘N’ Roll has a 42-62 record, while Team SCS holds a 39-65 slate to complete the standings.

Week nine action continues tomorrow with the Wild Wild West hosting Team SCS. In other games, the WildBoyz will try to protect its territory when its meets the visiting Rack ‘N’ Roll and the Homeboyz and Alamo clash in a much-awaited battle of the leaders.
