The Jokers IT&E Voyagers secured the top ranking in the Budweiser Open 8-Ball Tuesday League after the Smoke Pub Armatech Hustlers failed to muster enough wins in last week’s final regular season matches held in separate venues.

The Voyagers were leading by only three wins with their 167-118 record against the Hustlers’ 164-121 slate and the latter needed no less than 13 wins to clinch the No. 1 seeding in the playoff round.

The Voyagers completed a 9-6 decision over the Abyss Crazy 8, while the Hustlers could only muster an 11-4 triumph against the Abyss Homeboyz II to fall short in their bid.

The Voyagers finished with a 176-124 slate for a one-win edge over the Hustlers’ 175-125 card. The Crazy 8 (153-147), STR8 Shooters (148-152), Smoke Pub Ali’I Destroyers (146-154), and the Homeboyzz II (102-198) complete the standings.

The Voyagers will visit the STR8 Shooters at latter’s home bar in Garapan, while the Crazy 8 will host the Hustlers in the separate semifinal matches tonight with the winners advancing to the June 30 title game.

In the Thursday league, the fourth-ranked Abyss Titans clinched the crown following a 9-3 upset of the No. 2 ranked Wild Bill’s in the finals match for the regular season crown.

Top-ranked Route 33 Alamo Car Rental, which dropped a 9-6 decision against the Titans in the playoffs, pulled off a 9-8 win against the Jokers Homeboyz to place third.

The Titans will visit Wild Bill’s tomorrow in a playoff match for the last Budweiser Cup berth. The winner will face Route 33 on Thursday, June 25.

The other quarterfinals pairings in the Budweiser Cup are the Homeboyz against the Aybss Rack ‘N’ Roll and Smoke Pub Magic 8-Bll versus the Hobbies Deadshot.

The Jokers Wonderpool Aces will take on Jonny’s Team SCS in the other match.

The awards banquet will be held on July 26, Sunday, from 10:30am to 3pm at Pacific Islands Club’s Charley’s Cabaret.
