Voter registration drive at Fiesta on Friday
The Commonwealth Election Commission will conduct a voter registration drive at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan’s Azucena Room this Friday, May 25, from 8:30am to 12:30pm.
There will also be a voter registration drive at the Tinian Junior/Senior High School today and tomorrow, May 17-18, from 9am to 4pm.
Those who would like to register must bring a copy of their birth certificate certified by the court, a current valid U.S. passport, or naturalization documents to show proof of one’s citizenship.
A person is eligible to vote who, on Nov. 6, 2018, is 18 years of age or older, is domiciled in the Commonwealth, has resided in the Commonwealth for 120 days prior to the day of the election, is not serving a sentence for a felony conviction, has not been declared by a court to be judicially insane, and is either a citizen or national of the United States as defined in the Northern Mariana Islands Constitution.
Previously registered voters who have failed to vote in the 2014 and 2016 general election must re-register to be eligible to vote in the 2018 regular general election.
