Jack Ngiraibuuch, a 35-year-old fugitive arrested Monday, was allegedly caught on camera stealing a wallet that contained $5,954 in cash and checks from an officer at the J&P Golf Academy in Gualo Rai.

Detective Buddy Igitol stated in his report that a surveillance camera at the academy captured Ngiraibuuch using a telephone in the booth, then taking a wallet from the victim’s purse on Tuesday morning, Aug. 30.

At yesterday’s hearing, Superior Court associate judge Kenneth L. Govendo imposed a $7,000 cash bail for Jack Ngiraibuch’s temporary release.

Govendo also found out from court records that there are two outstanding bench warrants against Ngiraibuuch issued by then Superior Court associate judge Ramona V. Manglona in the total amount of $700 for failing to appear at a review hearing in 2009 and at an arraignment on June 3, 2011, relating to two traffic cases. The traffic matters will be heard on Sept. 8 at 9am.

Detective Igitol said that two police officers responded to a burglary and theft case at J&P Golf Academy on Aug. 30, 2011. Igitol said that one of the officers identified the suspect as Ngiraibuuch through the surveillance camera.

According to the victim, the suspect arrived at the establishment at 8:08am that day and asked to use the telephone to call his family. The suspect, identified as Ngiraibuuch, told the victim that his family members were supposed to meet him to play golf.

Ngiraibuuch used the phone inside the booth and walked around as the victim stepped out of the staff booth and sat on a couch a few feet away from the booth’s door.

Ngiraibuuch later asked the victim to use the phone again. He then informed the victim he will wait outside for his family to arrive.

After a few minutes, the victim checked her purse and realized that her wallet was gone. She called her husband at home to verify if she had left her wallet behind. When the husband told her the wallet was not there, the victim reviewed the surveillance footage and saw the suspect touching her bag.

Detective Igitol said the footage of the camera showed that, after taking the wallet from the victim’s purse, Ngiraibuuch got into a Toyota Echo from the driver’s door and left the parking lot.

The victim said her wallet contained $704 in cash and two checks totaling $5,250.
