Veterans, Reservists, and National Guardsmen on Saipan and their families are encouraged to attend an outreach event that aims to inform them about their health benefits.

The Saipan Veterans Town Hall Meet is slated for Nov. 16, Wednesday, from 5pm to 6:30pm at the American Memorial Park Visitors Center.

Ruth Coleman of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Health Administration for the Pacific Island Health Care System made the announcement during the Veterans Day Ceremony at the American Memorial Park’s Court of Honor on Nov. 11.

“The purpose of the meeting is you asking questions on how to access your health benefits. The setting is going to be very comfortable so please, if you have time, come,” said Coleman, adding that the meeting will be a question-and-answer format.

Coleman said the event is also an opportunity for veterans and their families to get to know more about the Saipan Veterans Affairs Outreach Clinic.

“We haven’t done a ribbon cutting yet but it’s operational and we’re getting it cranking and going,” she said. “The state office and the Department of Veterans Affairs are working hand in hand to make sure that our veterans are taken care of.”

For more information, visit the clinic at Suite 100 and 206 at the Marina Heights II Building or call 322-0035.
