Delegate Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan (Ind-MP) invites all veterans, service members, military families, and members of the public to the 2018 Northern Marianas Veterans Resource Fair, which starts on Rota today, April 4, 9:30am-12:30pm at the Mayor’s Conference Hall.

The fair continues on Saipan tomorrow, April 5, 5:30pm-8:30pm at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center, and ends on Tinian on Friday, April 6, 2:30pm-5:30pm at the Tinian Library.

“The Northern Marianas Veterans Resource Fair will provide our veterans, service members, and their families the opportunity to learn more about the services and benefits they have earned and to connect with the federal and commonwealth agencies and community groups that are here in the Marianas to support them,” said Sablan.

Constituents will be able to meet with representatives from more than 40 organizations to gain information about veterans’ health care and benefits, education and career training, home loans, employment assistance, small business development training, vocational rehabilitation, legal aid, disability assistance, crisis support, counseling, family support programs, and social services.

Veterans and family members who wish to meet with Department of Veterans Affairs representatives to follow up on their claims are asked to bring relevant supporting documents (i.e., copies of DD214 forms, medical records, marriage or birth certificates for dependents, etc.).

“Improving access to services in the Marianas is one of my top priorities as a member of the House Veterans Affairs Committee,” Sablan said.

“And better access begins with raising awareness about the services that are available.”

Additionally, the congressional office is collaborating with the Guam Vet Center to conduct a needs assessment that will be helpful for developing the Northern Marianas’ very own Vet Center, another top goal for Sablan. Surveys will be distributed at the resource fairs on Rota, Tinian, and Saipan.
