Veterans invited to meeting today
Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang and the Northern Marianas Humanities Council are inviting CNMI veterans to a meeting today, March 1, 9:30am at the Mayor’s Office located in Ladera Center Building, Chalan Laulau.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide information about an upcoming Humanities Council event called a “Fireside Chat,” that will allow younger veterans to meet and share experiences with older veterans from World War II and Korea and Vietnam conflicts in an enjoyable and informal setting.
The Fireside Chat will be held on the evening of Sunday, March 13, 2016, at the American Memorial Park Beachside Pavilion.
In addition to sharing experiences, participating veterans will be provided with an overview of services and benefits to which they are entitled.
Veterans will also be invited to participate in a second, related event that will allow veterans to talk about their individual experiences through stories and photos. The selected stories and photos will be displayed in a traveling exhibit to be launched on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2016.
