Veterans fair to continue on Tinian, Rota
The office of Delegate Gregorio Kill C. Sablan (Ind-MP) hosted a Veterans Resource Fair on Saipan on Wednesday, to help raise awareness of the support services that veterans can avail of.
The fair continued yesterday on Tinian at the Northern Marianas College instructional site and today on Rota, at the Rota Resort, from 10am to 4pm.
Tina Sablan, Sablan’s outreach coordinator and deputy communications director, said the fair invited over 30 service providers, both local and federal, to “share information about the resources that they offer to veteran service members and military families in the Marianas.”
“We have representatives from the Department of Veterans Affairs as well as a number of community health providers that are part of the Veterans Access, Choice, and Accountability Act program. We have also invited family programs of the Army Reserve and a whole array of social service organizations such as Karidat, Micronesian Legal Services Corp., Northern Marianas Protection and Advocacy Systems, and the Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority, with their call-a-ride program, to name a few,” said Sablan.
“Every social service provider that we could invite together into one room we invited to come today to raise awareness of what is available to support those who have served,” said Sablan.
The fair attracted almost 100 veterans and family members of veterans as of 4:45pm on Wednesday.
