In an effort to increase awareness on maintaining good health and to promote education on disease prevention, the US Pinoys for Good Governance (USPGG) and National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) Marianas chapter (CNMI and Guam), in collaboration with El Shaddai Saipan chapter, will be holding a free three-hour health screening on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 8am to 11am, at the Minachom Atdao Pavilion.

Registration starts at 7am and will be continuing until 10am.

People who would like to avail the blood sugar tests are advised to do fasting or to refrain from eating and drinking liquids preferably 12 hours or two hours prior to the actual testing.

Several key vital metrics include blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, height, Body Mass Index (BMI), and vision.

“Knowing where your health stands help you start realistic personal health goals for the rest of year of 2016. Free health screening events help members of the community take charge of their health.Further, providing such free services not only signifies volunteerism but is also a gesture of a concern to the health of every member of our community for disease prevention,” said Dr. Celia Lamkin, chairperson of USPGG and NaFFAA Marianas Chapter, and founder and chairperson of the Global Filipino Diaspora Marianas CNMI and Guam.

Information on disease prevention such as hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, stroke, heart attack, obesity, among others, will be distributed at the health screening site.

The USPGG Marianas chapter, NaFFAA Marianas chapter, and GFDM are committed to provide free health screening services to all members of the community regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, citizenship, and religion.
