On Sept. 15, 2017, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division published a Federal Register notice announcing the increased hourly minimum wage rate for workers performing on or in connection with federal contracts covered by Executive Order 13658, Establishing a Minimum Wage for Contractors.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2018, the minimum wage rate for covered workers will increase from $10.20 to $10.35 per hour.

The E.O., which was signed on Feb. 12, 2014, permits the Labor secretary to adjust minimum hourly rate each year.

On Jan. 1, 2015, contractors were required to pay covered workers at least $10.10, and the minimum wage has increased annually by an amount determined by the Labor secretary. (PR)
