USCIS IMMIGRATION TRAINING SESSIONS

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will be holding a series of public sessions in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands from Sept. 20 through Sept. 29.

USCIS officials will be on hand to provide an overview of the newly published CW Transitional Worker Final Rule and other immigration classifications available under the Immigration and Nationality Act. It will also be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions of USCIS subject matter experts.

PUBLIC SESSIONS

The following training sessions will each last about two hours. They are free and open to the public.

SAIPAN

* Wednesday, Sept 21 (5pm – 7pm) American Memorial Park Indoor Auditorium, Garapan

* Thursday, Sept 22 (5pm – 8pm) Information table at Thursday Night Market, Garapan

* Friday, Sept 23 (6pm – 8pm) American Memorial Park Outdoor Auditorium, Garapan

* Saturday, Sept 24 (10am – noon) Multipurpose Center, Susupe

* Monday, Sept 26 (5pm – 7pm) American Memorial Park Indoor Auditorium, Garapan

* Tuesday, Sept 27 (2pm – 4pm) American Memorial Park Indoor Auditorium, Garapan

* Wednesday, Sept 28 (9am – 11am) American Memorial Park Indoor Auditorium, Garapan

* Wednesday, Sept 28 (6pm – 8pm) Multipurpose Center, Susupe

* Thursday, Sept 29 (5pm – 8pm) Information table at Thursday Night Market, Garapan

ROTA

* Monday, Sept 26 (6pm – 8pm) Rota Roundhouse

TINIAN

* Tuesday, Sept 27 (6pm – 8pm) Dynasty Hotel and Casino – Dynasty Ballroom

EMPLOYER SESSIONS

The team will also conduct 2 sessions open to all employers:

* Saipan – American Memorial Park Indoor Auditorium, Garapan
Tuesday, Sept 20 / 2pm – 4pm / Session for employers only

* Rota – Mayor’s Conference Room
Monday, Sept 26 / 2pm – 4pm / Session for Employers only

The outreach team will also meet with many groups in the CNMI that have requested sessions. For those unable to attend a training session, materials will be available at the USCIS office in Garapan to explain the new rules.
