USCIS exec to discuss CW regulations at Chamber meeting
The Saipan Chamber of Commerce’s general membership luncheon meeting tomorrow, Sept. 7, 2011, will feature David Gulick, the, district director of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Honolulu District 26.
Richard Pierce, the Chamber’s executive director, said that this will be Gulick’s first appearance in Saipan within hours of printing of the long awaited CW-1 regulations governing foreign workers in the Commonwealth.
Friend L. Walker, federal security director for Saipan International Airport and Rota International Airport, will also speak about a new initiative within TSA called Risk Based Security.
The Chamber’s membership meeting will be held at the Sandcastle ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Saipan. Luncheon will begin at 11:30am, with the general membership meeting agenda commencing at 12pm. Luncheon is $15 for SCC members, while guest and non-member charges are $20.
The meeting agenda will include a report on the SCC conducted poll on casino gaming in Saipan and the often debated abolition of Article 12 of the CNMI Constitution.
Non-SCC members are highly encouraged to attend and participate in the Chamber sponsored monthly luncheons. SCC allows those wishing to attend and participate not only as a way to encourage Chamber membership, but also to keep the entire business community aware of challenges and changes in the rapidly changing economic environment in the Commonwealth.
The Saipan Chamber of Commerce, funded in 1959, incorporated in 1976 and comprised of approximately 150 businesses, is the largest private business organization in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
