USAF band to join Guam LibDay celebrations

ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam—The U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific-Hawaii’s eight piece ensemble “Papana” arrived Tuesday and will perform a diverse repertoire of contemporary and classical jazz events throughout the community for this year’s Liberation Day celebration in Guam.
The band’s official tour in Guam will run from July 19 to July 24. The first performance will be at the Outrigger hotel lobby tomorrow, July 20, at 6pm,. On July 21, the band will perform at the Liberation Day carnival at 8pm during the fireworks.
The first military base performance kicks-off at 6pm, July 22, at the Coral Reef Fitness Center.
The U.S. Naval Base will host a performance on July 23 at the NEX shopping center beginning at noon and will conclude their tour at the U.S. Naval Hospital on Sunday, with two performances at noon and 3pm.
The U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific-Hawaii is based out of Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii where they have called home for more than 30 years. The band has three ensembles, “Hana Hou,” “Papana,” and “Small Kine,” bringing forth a wide variety of sounds and styles for concerts and community events throughout the Pacific region.
