Compact funded project of the month is the furnishing of the Yap College of Micronesia Campus’ Student Center and Computer Lab. Yap’s COM campus has a new fully furnished building to house the Computer Lab, Student Center, and additional classrooms. The furnishings were the finishing touch to this project funded under the Compact Infrastructure Sector grant.

The project began in 2009 with the award of $2.1 million from the Infrastructure Sector Grant to construct the building. The furnishings were provided through an additional grant of $100,000 awarded in 2014. The FSM Project Management Unit reported that the project is essentially complete and provided photos of the furnished computer lab, classrooms, offices, and meeting rooms. (U.S. Embassy Kolonia)
