The U.S. Immigration Court on Saipan heard 10 removal cases on Tuesday and found one respondent removable from the Commonwealth.

Judge Clarence M. Wagner of Honolulu conducted the proceedings via videoconference.

Saipan Tribune learned that Wagner continued the hearings on the nine cases to a later date.

One respondent, Elvis Bisela Tibong, a Filipino, came late for the hearing. He told the court he is sick.

The judge determined that Tibong is removable.

Tibong, however, informed the court he is going to appeal. The judge gave him time to file his appeal.

In February 2009, Superior Court associate judge David A. Wiseman ordered Tibong to appear in court for deportation hearing.

Wiseman issued the order after the then CNMI Immigration Division filed a deportation case against Tibong for allegedly overstaying in the Commonwealth for over a year.

According to Superior Court documents, Tibong used to work on Rota then moved to Saipan. He worked as a farmer then became a mason.
