The U.S. government is seeking the forfeiture of $48,087 that was seized from the C.K. Dress Shop, which was used as front for selling illegal drugs.

The dress shop’s manager, Hong Xia Shao Ayuyu, 46, pleaded guilty last February in Superior Court to two counts of illegal possession of a controlled substance. Ayuyu’s sentencing will be on Aug. 2, 2017 at 9am.

Last Thursday, the U.S. government filed in federal court a complaint for forfeiture.

According to U.S. Attorney for the Districts of Guam and the NMI Shawn N. Anderson, on Nov. 12, 2016, a CNMI Superior Court search warrant was executed at the C.K. Dress Shop and about 34.5 gross grams of methamphetamine or “ice” and $48,087 was found.

Anderson said that Ayuyu had disclosed selling “ice” since March 2016.
