A flag purchased with the assistance of Delegate Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan (Ind-MP) by former Saipan lawyer and windsurfer Timothy MB Farrell flies over the U.S. Capitol building in honor of the passing of Ann Jordan, a dear friend and fellow windsurfer.

Farrell was an associate of Superior Court Associate Judge David Wiseman when he had a private practice. Farrell now lives and works in the District of Columbia representing MBI Health Services, LLC, a group of health clinics that serve the District east of the Anacostia River. A master gardener, he volunteers his weekends at the National Botanic Garden and is a lector at the National Shrine. Farrell published the first commercially available CNMI bar review outline and was the first to appeal a case from the CNMI Supreme Court to the U.S. Supreme Court.

According to the congressman’s website, flags are available in different sizes and fabrics. All flag purchases include a dedication message, which may be customized for the recipient. New flags can be flown over the Capitol if requested for an additional charge. Purchasers may request a specific flying date, but due to weather and varying demand, no dates can be guaranteed. Flags flown over the Capitol include a certificate, which may be personalized for a particular person, event, or organization.

In this case, the weather cooperated and the flag was flown on the same day Ann Jordan was buried. The dedication, in this case reads: “One of the best water women I have ever known. A great windsurfer and paddler, she was taken before her time and will be missed.”

“She knew her port from her starboard,” said Farrell.

Ann Jordan was married to Chuck Jordan. In addition to being an avid water woman, Ann Jordan and her husband also enjoyed coffee and founded the Marianas Coffee Company. The popular brand can be found all over the Mariana Islands and is loved by locals and tourists alike. (PR)
