The University of Guam’s Division of English and Applied Linguistics will unveil the twelfth issue of its literary journal, Storyboard today, May 4, from 6:30pm to 8pm, at Tu Re Café in East Hagåtña. The journal features a collection of poetry, prose, graphic art and photography that explore the theme, “Crossings.”

“What’s incredible about Storyboard 12 is that it features not just local writers and artists, but also writers and artists from across Micronesia and the greater Oceania, and illustrates the many ways we are all connected. It also features work from writers living in the diaspora, which I think is very appropriate considering the theme of ‘crossings,’” said Storyboard 12 editor Victoria-Lola Leon Guerrero. “The power of this issue’s theme is that it was open to many interpretations. The writing and art it generated really highlights the many ways we all cross waters, borders, languages, cultures, beliefs and so many other things on a daily basis.”

The writers and artists featured in Storyboard 12 will be present at the unveiling to read and display their work. Copies of the current and past issues of Storyboard will be available for sale.
