UOG students to host forums on migrant crimes, medical marijuana
The University of Guam School of Business and Public Administration announced yesterday two public forums during the month of May. The forums are hosted by the Master of Public Administration PA 540 Administrative Law Class under the supervision of assistant professor Ronald Aguon.
The first forum, “Compact Impact: Migrant Crime Issues,” will be held from 12pm to 3pm on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at the IT&E Lecture Hall, Room 131 in the Jesus & Eugenia Leon Guerrero SBPA Building. This forum will feature experts and community stakeholders to discuss issues and possible solutions to migrant crime issues on island.
The second forum on the subject of medical marijuana will be held on 12pm to 3pm on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at the IT&E Lecture Hall, Room 131 in the Jesus & Eugenia Leon Guerrero SBPA Building. This forum will also include medical experts and community stakeholders to discuss the medical marijuana legislation proposed by Sen. Tina Muna Barnes.
“As Public Administration students, we look at important issues in our community, and research and share ways to address these issues,” said forum chair and Master of Public Administration student Anthony R. Quenga. “The topic of migrant crimes has been quite prevalent for the several months now, and as a class we’re offering this platform to discuss the issues and bring a greater and more balanced view to the community.”
The public is invited to both forums. For more information or any inquiries, contact Analyn Gatus Akigami via email: pa540.uogspring14.prom@gmail.com. (UOG)
