In addition, for the 16th year out of its 17 years of existence, the UOG SHRM Student Chapter has also received the Superior Merit Award, which nationally recognizes the UOG SHRM Student Chapter for its outstanding activities and projects in 2013-2014.

“I am beyond proud of our UOG Student Chapter,” said Dr. Richard Colfax, faculty advisor. “Their hard work, dedication, activities and collaboration have earned them this recognition from SHRM. I am honored to be the advisor for this team of students which exemplifies UOG’s excellence.”

The UOG SHRM Student Chapter received the awards at the SHRM Annual Student Conference and the SHRM Annual Conference and Exposition in Orlando in June. Attending the conferences were Johertz Marfega (treasurer), Miyuki Kim (treasurer-elect), Resty Albeza (member), Daphne May Leon Guerrero (member) and Colfax (adviser).

The SHRM conferences are the largest for human resources professionals with over 13,000 attending each year. Among featured conference speakers for this year were Good Morning America co-anchor Robin Roberts and former first lady of the United States Laura Bush. (PR)
