Former Koror state legislator Lillian “Lilly” Uludong, the only woman among seven candidates running for Koror governor for the Nov. 14 election, is on Saipan to meet Palaua voters who reside in the CNMI.

Lilly Uludong and her husband, Moses Uludong, arrived on the island last Wednesday from Guam, where she also sought support from about 500 voters.

The Ulodongs will meet Koror voters tomorrow, Saturday, at the Seaside Restaurant (near the Cabrera Center) on Beach Road, from 6pm to 9pm. There are about 200 Koror voters on Saipan. They will cast their votes through absentee ballots.

Moses Uludong said it is the first time in Koror history that a woman is running for governor.

He appealed to voters to support his wife, whom he described as a “very able woman” who can do a lot of things for Koror with her platforms.

Moses Uludong said Saipan voters can make a difference for the election.

Lilly Uludong, 67, served eight years as Koror state legislator. She retired as Aging director after 36 years of service.

The Uludongs publish the Palau newspaper Tia Belau.

Moses Uludong himself is also running for a seat at Ngchesar State Council at a separate Nov. 24 election. The elected 17 council members will select who among themselves will become the state’s governor.

Moses Uludong served as a senator in Palau from 1981 to 1984. He also served two terms as governor of Ngchesar State from 1987 to 1993.
