UFO league meeting Thursday

Organizers of the 2015 United Filipino Organization basketball league will hold another meeting on Thursday at 6pm at Jhem’s restaurant in Garapan.

Twenty teams spread out in the four divisions have sent feelers of joining this season’s cage hostilities that will open on Feb. 22, Sunday, at 7am at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.

The Masters division has the most number of teams with seven followed by six in the Open category. The Under-15 and U20 have so far four and three squads.

League organizers are limiting the number of teams to eight each in the four divisions.

Competing squads are allowed to form a 12-player roster while registration fees are $350 in U15, $400 in U20, $600 in Open, and $550 in the Masters.

The opening games will be chosen by raffle with the U15 the first match and each followed by contests in the Masters, U21, and Open.
