The United Filipino Organization last Sunday evening officially concluded their elections and already has a new lineup of officers-elect.

UFO president-elect Gerry de Guzman comprises the new set of officers for the organization, which includes vice president-elect Mar Masilungan, secretary Birhen Martinez, treasurer Ladyvir Canape, and auditor Yholanda Villavicencio.

In an interview with Saipan Tribune yesterday, de Guzman noted that one of his goals for the organization is to bring back sporting events that had been previously discontinued.

“We have activities lined up for the UFO,” he said. “I wish to revive sporting events of the UFO which was discontinued for about three or four years. We would also be conducting trainings and seminars for professional development,” he added.

De Guzman further emphasized that the future trainings and seminars, members of the organization would be prioritized for the limited slots.

“I am looking forward to two years as president of the UFO,” he said.

De Guzman would be replacing current UFO president Marlon Regaton, who was president to the organization since 2017.

De Guzman further noted that the date for the official swearing in of officers has yet to be discussed since the conclusion of the organization’s election last Sunday evening.

“It is still premature to say now when the oath-taking ceremony would be since it is also dependent on the availability of the other UFO officers,” he told Saipan Tribune.
