The United Filipino Organizations has joined other Filipino group with fundraising initiatives to aid the bereaved family of car crash victim Jessa Quila.

Quila, a 21-year-old from Pangasinan, Philippines, was on her way home when the car she was driving crashed into a power pole early Thursday morning in Dandan. Her remains, currently at the Commonwealth Health Center morgue, is awaiting repatriation.

According to UFO president Marlon Regaton, relatives and friends of Quila approached UFO last June 1 and asked for the organization’s help to support their fundraising to aid Quila’s bereaved family in Pangasinan.

Regaton said that UFO offered a helping hand through endorsement of the fundraising initiative. Quila left behind a 2-year-old son.

Yesterday, UFO released a press release to entice interested individuals to support the fundraiser,

“UFO will facilitate endorsement of the designated drop boxes location. The family representative…will be the sole contact for each donation boxes and the only representative allowed to pick up donation boxes,” he said.

This fund drive will last from June 1 to June 23. Interested donors can drop donations at LBC Chalan Laulau and Garapan Branch, RUSTAN’s FOREX in CK, RNV PNB/Forex Remittance in Garapan, APEX Remittance in CK, and D’ Elegance Restaurant in Garapan.

For additional information on the donation boxes, contact Wilma Pangelinan at 287-1348/235-3653 or Dolores Soriano at 285-1766. These are the family representatives of Quila.

According to Regaton, relatives and friends of Quila, through the help of the Sto. Niño group, have also scheduled a nightly rosary/novena.
