The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. has scheduled two power interruptions on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, from 6am to 12pm and on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, from 6am to 12p.m.

The purpose of the power interruption is to de-energize the primary lines to allow the CUC line crew to safely replace three spans of overhead primary conductors and corroded hardware along Chalan Pale Arnold Road in Garapan. This is an effort to complete upgrades on the feeder 3 distribution circuit in order to strengthen the integrity of the distribution circuit.

Areas to be affected are Chalan Pale Arnold Road (from Sugar King to 99cents Supermart), Garapan St., Alaihai Av. (Duty Free, I Love Saipan), Puti Tainobiu Ave., Filooris Ave., Bikiki Ave., Kalachucha Ave., Upper Miha, and Nothern side of China Town (Sugar King Rd., Executive Ct., Husga Av., President St., Ruler Ct., and Governor Pl.)

The China Town traffic light will be affected.

The S-9 and S-4 wastewater lift stations will be affected.

Because of the scale of work that will be performed, travelers are urged to take alternate routes or to exercise caution when driving through the affected areas.
