Two men aboard Toyota Sienna rob 2 tourists

Two unidentified men robbed two female tourists who were walking in front of Gold Beach Hotel along Beach Road in Garapan Tuesday night.

Department of Public Safety police spokesman Travis Hurst said the suspects managed to get the victims’ handbags.

Hurst said he has no information yet on the contents of the handbags.

He said the suspects fled aboard a gray newer model Toyota Sienna.

Hurst identified the victims as Jang Han and Wei Wang, both Chinese tourists.

Police investigation showed that DPS Central Dispatch received a call of a robbery near Gold Beach Hotel on Tuesday at 9:50pm.

According to the victims’ account, they were walking along the road when two men got out of a gray Toyota Sienna, approached them, and grabbed their handbags.

The suspects fled back to the Toyota Sienna and took off, heading east on Gualo Rai Road toward Chalan Pale Arnold Road (Middle Road).

Hurst said DPS is seeking the public’s assistance in apprehending the robbers.

“Anyone with information is asked to call DPS or the Crime Stoppers hotline at 670-664-9001 or 670-234-7272,” Hurst said.
