The victory was second in a row for KB Market after a 0-3 start and the lopsided victory was set up early with the team building a 10-point advantage at the end of the first period.
KB Market’s offense proved to be too much for the winless 5-Star Construction (0-4) with former Saipan Southern High School standouts Lerio Pagarao and Matt Duenas combining for more than half of the winning team’s total points and their three other teammates also finishing in double figures. Pagarao had a game-high 31 points, Duenas added 24, and Leo Galarse contributed 18. Leo Itaas and Ivan Devero chipped in 12 apiece, while Preston Basa and Edwin Santos completed KB Market’s box score, registering 7 and 2, respectively.
Pagarao nailed KB Market’s first four baskets in the second quarter to blow the game wide open, as he added 6 more markers later to hand his team a 54-36 halftime advantage. The rest of Pagarao’s teammates picked up their scoring in the second half to keep KB Market’s safe distance.
