Two from CNMI finish basic military training

Two airmen from the Northern Mariana Islands recently graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

Both U.S. Air Force airmen Benjie Bernard Ramon L. Duenas and Zackery Shigeru D. Yamagishi completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Duenas is the son of Esteven and Agnes Duenas and son-in-law of Bernadino and Ernida Montague, all of Kagman, Saipan. He is also the husband of Bernadine Duenas and a 2007 graduate of Kagman High School.

Yamagishi is the son of Bob Yamagishi and Lynn Duenas, stepson of Jess Peterson, and grandson of Joaquin and Maria Duenas and Aki and Dolores Yamagishi, all of Saipan. He is also the nephew of Evan Yamagishi of Mangilao, Guam. Yamagishi is a 2015 graduate of Marianas High School. (PR)
