The best teams in the Tuesday’s Budweiser Cup and the regular season of the Thursday Open 8-Ball side will be known this week as both leagues wrap up their respective matches in the Saipan Billiards Association-organized competition.

Only two teams remain in Tuesday’s Budweiser-SBA Cup with the Joker Destroyers and sister squad Straight Black Ball clashing for the title after dispatching separate foes in last week’s semifinals.

The Hustlers, runners-up to the IT&E Voyagers in the regular season of the Tuesday League, escaped with a 9-8 win over the Destroyers with the duo of Nolan Cultura and Cesar Sangalang beating Senen Pangilinan and Erwin Gomez in the final Partners 8-Ball event.

Tonight, they will face a Straight Black Ball side that’s fresh from scoring a 9-7 decision over Jonny’s Crazy 8.

The Huslters also knocked out regular season champs Jokers IT&E Voyagers in the first round of the Budweiser-SBA Cup, while the Destroyers eliminated the Jonny’s Wild Boyz.

In the Thursday league’s regular season, fourth-seed Wild Bill’s Wild Wild West will collide with the Jokers Homeboyz for the division crown after dispatching top-ranked Jokers Alamo Car Rental, 9-7, at the start of the playoffs. The Homeboyz earned the right to face the Wild Bill’s-backed squad after a 9-5 decision over the Wildboyz.

The Wild Bill’s-Homeboyz title match is set this Thursday, the same day Alamo and Wildboyz clash for the third place honors.
